For anyone looking for a restaurant for that special dinner date, we have provided below some of the establishment’s strong and weak points, as well as, some of the recommended menu items for you.



Char Bangkok Restaurant

We tasted the Surprise Menu, which is a 3-course meal consisting of an appetizer, main dish, and dessert, in which the chef will secretly choose the menu items for you.

Strong Points

• Stunning view
• Excellent ambiance
• Delicious food, high-quality ingredients, and reasonable pricing.

Weak Points

• Diners have no option to choose the food being served. However, if you are allergic to some ingredients or don’t eat beef, you can inform the restaurant accordingly.
• Prices of the drinks are quite high.
• Not very fulfilling.

Surprise Menu, priced at 1200++ baht/person, is quite high. But diners will be treated to delicious food combined with stunning views and ambiance, making this a very special dinner occasion. Absolutely worth the money spent.

Char Bangkok Rooftop Bar is an open-air area on the 26th Floor, that focuses on serving drinks. However, guests also have the option to also order to food.

• The Surprise Menu is a must-try, as diners will have the excitement of suspense about what the chef will prepare.

ขนมปังฟอคคาเซีย (Focaccia)

Focaccia Bread 
The bread is enjoyable when combined with butter. The other is light biscuits topped with soft duck confit. Good combination of sweetness and saltiness. The sauce aroma is somewhat similar to Asian-style braised duck.


Asparagus Soup

The asparagus soup was sufficiently creamy with a good combination of slight saltiness and sweetness.

The slight asparagus signature scent was noticeable from the first spoonful. Some might be a bit perplexed if they did not know what soup they were getting.

Served with crispy bread to add texture. Liked it.

Mixed Green Salad

Mixed Green Salad
Fresh crispy green salad, sweet and sour sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and crispy bread to add texture. Served with sweet and sour aromatic balsamic sauce.

Roasted Sea Bass Saffron Sauce
Grilled sea bass, crispy skin, a firm texture, with a mild salty taste, topped with saffron sauce. A lightly sweet and sour taste. The sweet aroma was complemented by a faint lemon scent.

Everything tasted smooth and pleasing, but not bland. Very tasty.

Pork Belly Cauliflower Puree

Pork Belly Cauliflower Puree
The inside consisted of soft melted fat, while the outside was thin and crispy. Very satisfying. With a simple salty taste from salt, complimented with cauliflower sauce, which was creamy, soft, and sweet, with no veggie-scented aroma.

Strangely delicious but goes well together.



Smooth rich texture, as well as, fragrant. The texture was more similar to ice cream rather than a pastry. Complimented by the sweet and sour taste from the raspberry sauce.

Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate mousse, good intensity, lightly sweet, cool and refreshing, paired with fresh raspberries and fragrant raspberry sauce.

Refreshing sweetness and sourness perfectly complimented each other. Supplemented with a little fun crunchy crumbles.

The decorative little flowers were bitter. Not really sure if it was eatable, but we also ate it.



Not included in the package, and additional purchases were needed.

Wireless Passion (Signature Mocktail) 
Priced at 250++ baht. Refreshingly sweet and sour from the passion fruit and pineapple juice combination. The description also stated that pepper is added, but we didn’t get any smell of it.

Sipple Me
Priced at 250++ baht. Pleasing aroma from the apple and mint combination. Refreshing sweet and sour taste.
